Offering more functionality than most wood fire pits; this grill features a 1/2-inch high carbon steel cook top/griddle that allows for versatile cooking. You can prepare a variety of foods at once as the fire heats up over the spacious 1,600 inch cooking surface. The center grate can be used to sear meats and veggies or remove it to enjoy the fire. The cook top is nearly maintenance free, simply scrape food residue directly into the fire and wipe cooktop with oil once it has cooled. Keep extra wood or charcoal nearby in the storage area built right into the base. The Sterling 40 is made from American-made, pre-weathered corten steel
(also known as weathering steel) that is built to stay outdoors all year long. The fire bowl base will develop a beautiful, natural patina over time with no maintenance.
